Course Overview

A comprehensive program designed to enhance academic writing for both theses and research papers. Covers identification of research problem , gap formulation, defining objectives, thesis structuring, referencing, ethics, and strategies for successful publication.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

  • Understand principles of academic writing (clarity, coherence, originality, objectivity)
  • Structure theses (chapters) and journal papers (IMRaD format) effectively
  • Develop strong problem statements, research questions, and arguments
  • Write impactful literature reviews (traditional, systematic, bibliometric)
  • Present results, discussions, and conclusions with precision
  • Translate thesis/dissertation content into publishable papers
  • Use referencing styles (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.) and manage references with tools
  • Build a personal roadmap for thesis completion and publication pipeline
  • Leverage AI tools for academic writing and how to avoid plagiarism
